Why You Should Add Rice Bran Oil to Your Skincare Routine

We’re going to talk about a very interesting ingredient today—the reason why we brought Soroci into the Cupidrop family! And that is: Rice Bran Oil, also known as Gamma Oryzanol.

To be honest with you, before looking into Soroci, I have not heard much about rice bran oil or used a single product made with it. However, after some research, I found out that rice bran oil contains many qualities that can improve and benefit our skin.

You may wonder where rice bran oil comes from. It’s basically the oil that is extracted from the inner husk of rice. Many people have been using this oil to lower cholesterol, aid in weight loss, help with menopause, calm sensitivity to allergens and boost the overall immune system. And while it is a vegetable oil, its structure is very comparable to a peanut oil. It’s often incorporated in cooking Asian food such as tempura (yum), or consumed as simple pills.

Now going back to what it does for our skin…

THE HYDRATING FACTOR — As mentioned before, rice bran oil is similar to peanut oil, making it high in fat content. This may repel you from putting it on your skin, but that’s actually what you want on your skin to keep it moisturized for a long time.

THE ANTI-AGING FACTOR — Rice bran oils contain Vitamin E, which boasts a high level of antioxidants. Antioxidants are essential in fighting off free radicals and slowing down the process of aging by combatting fine lines, wrinkles and many more.

Thankfully, all of Soroci‘s products contain rice bran oil, making your skin one step closer to radiance!

Here is a mini introduction to the 6 Soroci products we added:

MORNING DRIZZLE BUCKET MIST (pictured above)—This is the mist you must include in your summer skin bucket list. You know how some mists dispense a small glob of liquid when you spray? Well, thankfully this one dispenses a really fine mist that coats your face with just the right amount of product. So refreshing to spray right after you wash your face and throughout the day!

EGF ESSENCE—Having trouble trying to fade dark spots? Try using this EGF Essence, which will help you through its EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor). This is crucial when it comes to speeding up your cell turnover rate. The more your skin knows how to discard old skin cells and generate new ones, the faster you’ll see positive results in fading dark spots and hyperpigmentation. If you’d like, you can also use it only on the areas you really need it.

NMF SERUM—If you need a straight up/no-fuss serum that always makes sure your hydration game is on check, then look no further. Its NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) ensures that your skin holds onto the good oils that keep your skin moisturized for a long time. It also contains Licorice Root Extract which provides brightening and anti-inflammatory benefits.

MILD LOTION—If your face experiences sensitivity and acne, even the simple act of putting on moisturizer could be discouraging and annoying. However, this product allows you to gently moisturize your skin with its mild formula. It also contains Niacinamide which works to brighten your overall complexion and fade out hyperpigmentation.

AQUA CREAM—This is the perfect nighttime moisturizer to seal in the serums and treatments you used. It has a lightweight formula, making it extremely easy to blend into the skin without any greasiness or stickiness. When you wake up, you’ll see a noticeably brighter, healthier skin.

REPAIR SKIN SOFTENER—Out of everything, this has got to be my favorite. Many of us have moments where we miss our alarms and the last thing we want to worry about are the many steps to complete the oh-so-thorough morning skincare routine. Or, you just loooove sleeping in and have #noregrets. This is an all-in-one product where it tones, treats and hydrates your face at the same time. Trust me, it’ll be your morning savior! (Note: Don’t forget sunscreen!)
