Transitioning Your Skin into Fall

Now that we’re heading into fall, it’s time to go through Playful Beautiful‘s official Fall 2017 skincare checklist! This checklist will be your friendly guide in helping your skin to smoothly transition into the colder months.

FIRST OF ALL, make sure your exfoliation game is on check. Whether you’re using a physical or chemical exfoliator, finding the right kind for your skin is super important.

#MailCall! I received the following the other day from @cupidrop ~ I love Secret Key ~ it is an inexpensive brand that makes some really good products ~ their toners are huge, excellent and last a long time. I also really like their snail cream line as well ~ lightweight, not sticky and absorbs well. However, my FAVORITE item from Secret Key was their Lemon D-Toc Peeling Gel ~ it was a huge favorite of a lot of K-Beauty fans back in the days of Memebox Global too. They discontinued that D-Toc version and came out with the 🍋Lemon Sparking Peeling Gel and Cupidrop sent this to me for review purposes! A quick look at the ingredients list makes me this this is the same formula as the D-Toc Peeling Gel!! I also received the Lemon Sparkling Peeling Pads ~ which I had really wanted to try since they came out. Thank you Kate and @Cupidrop!💞 . . 👉Swipe to See.. I was selected to review #Benton's latest skincare item ~ Cacao Moist & Mild Cream ~ I love Benton products too ~ I have reviewed a LOT of them at my blog (I still need to review my 🐌Snail 🐝Bee favorites!!) and I have always been happy with their formulas. I did a quick swatch on this and despite being made with 63% cacao extract & 10% cacao seed butter, this is lightweight, absorbs quickly and leaves my skin soft. I will be using it as my daily facial moisturizer all this week and report back with an initial impressions. I will do a full review at my blog, but I need more than 7 days to do that!! This also has polygutamic acid, madecassoside, beta-glucan and sodium hyaluronate ~ really great ingredients!! Plus samples ~ I have never tried their hand cream, that came out last year, so I am glad to have a sample! . . 👉Swipe to See.. If I ever STOP purchasing/getting centella items, I will have a mega blog post with Centella products. I think I might have to have 2 blog posts, because there is no way I can start using all of the products I have!! 👇continued in comments👇. #ad #presssample #pureheals #secretkey #cupidrop #08L #kbeauty #koreanskincare #rasianbeauty #abcommunity #뷰티 #스킨케어 #koreanskincare #instabeauty #instablog #bblogger #kbeautyblogger #femalebblogger #beautygram #skincareaddict

If you’re looking for a physical exfoliant, we recommend Secret Key’s Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel. When you rub this into your skin, you will see little dead skin balls forming and screaming to be washed off. It’s a bit gross, but *sooo* satisfying to watch. It’s also packed with Vitamin C, which will help you achieve a brighter complexion and even out your skin tone.

Exfoliating with acids have been a popular method especially in the Asian Beauty community—AHA, BHA, PHA… you name it! For an effective AHA exfoliant, we recommend Cosrx’s AHA7 Whitehead Power Liquid, which is formulated with 75% apple fruit water & 7% glycolic acid. For BHA, we recommend the cult favorite BHA Blackhead Power Liquid by Cosrx. For those that struggle with exfoliating due to sensitive skin, Cosrx (we swear Cosrx is like the king of exfoliants) has formulated the PHA Moisture Renewal Cream. It contains 3% gluconolactone and coconut fruit extract that not only gently exfoliates but instantly locks in moisture. It’s also great at reducing redness and is non-greasy (whew).

SECOND, find your daily serum. Since the air is getting colder and drier, make sure to use a hydrating serum.

For those that want something really soothing, we recommend Klairs’s Rich Moist Soothing Serum—it has a lightweight gel-like texture that blends so easily into the skin. It will help you to combat the typical signs of dehydration such as dry spots, irritation and that tight, wrinkle-inducing sensation. If you’re looking target a specific problem, we recommend either one of the three ampoules by CLIV. Ampoules are the equivalent of a “super-serum” as they are more concentrated, so they are excellent at bringing faster and more effective results. For hydration, use the Max Hyaluronic Formula Ampoule. For brightness, use the Revitalizing C I2PL Corrector Ampoule. And finally, for combatting aging, use the Collagen Resurgence Laser Ampoule.

THIRD, find your go-to, “ride or die” hydrating cream. And I mean, something you can really rely on to bring life back into your face.

Klairs’s Rich Moist Soothing Cream is a rich and creamy formula that glides over your face and blends in seamlessly. It also comes in a tube packaging, which makes it easy to carry around and do hydration touch-ups throughout the day. For those that want something lighter in texture, we recommend A.True’s Spring Green Tea Watery Calming Cream. While the name says “spring,” it’s actually a good formula to use all throughout the year.

FOURTH, get in the habit of moisturizing your body—yes, the part where we often forget. Next thing you know, it’s November and you got ashy elbows and scaly, red rashes on your knees!

However, you can prevent all of that by remembering to moisturize your body everyday. Also, it’s best to do so right out of the shower as that’s when your pores are wide open and ready to receive moisture. To make this process easier, we recommend using Village 11 Factory’s Relax-Day Body Oil Wash. The moisturizing oil makes up 1/2 – 1/3 of the entire body wash, so you don’t have to worry about that instant tightness/dryness when you come out of the shower. Then, we recommend using Village 11 Factory’s Relax-Day Body Oil Cream to double up on moisture and lock everything in.

And that wraps up the Fall 2017 Skincare Checklist! Is there anything else you would be doing to help your skin transition from summer to fall? Let us know down below!

With love,

Jenny from Cupidrop
